Biomedia Wastewater Treatment

Applications

Specializing in Biocarrier for Wastewater Treatment (PVA-gel), TG Water provides products and knowledge to the Wastewater, Industrial, Desalination, Potable water and Cooling Tower industries. In the Industrial Water industry, we can provide products, equipment and expertise to reduce scale formation or bio-films in boiler and cooling tower applications.

Biocarrier for Wastewater Treatment
TG Water Additives is the only supplier of the most advanced bio-carrier in wastewater treatment, PVA-Gel, a biocarrier for wastewater treatment. This biocarrier was developed in Japan to address the high population in small spaces of the island. There are over 200 applications worldwide that demonstrate its superior performance.

PVA-Gel, is the ideal activated sludge biocarrier to increase treatment capacity, up to 5 times. Due to its large surface area, 2,500 M2/M3, it can also treat highly contaminated water.

It is a suitable biocarrier to replace MBBR biocarriers and IFAS biocarriers and increase their capacity. Other biocarriers do not offer the large surface area that PVA has to treat highly contaminated water. MBBR and IFAS biocarriers grow their biofilm on the surface, which is exposed to larger organisms and to sloughing. PVA-gel organisns grow inside the bead wher larger organisms do not penetrate. The sloughing effect is also reduced this wat.

PVA-gel may substitute any MBBR biocarriers and IFAS biocarriers to increase capacity without having to incur costly plant expansion and energy use.

If set up is done correctly, PVA-gel biocarrier may also reduce sludge production between 50-90%. TGWA, can help design and implement a system for your needs. Please, contact us to discuss your needs.

We also offer a complete line of products for tertiary treatment of wastewater. This is done by the use of UV, Ozone or even chemical conditioning. Contact us with your needs and let us find a solution.

Boiler Treatment
Impurities in water will leave solid deposits as steam evaporates. These solid deposits thermally insulate heat exchanger surfaces initially decreasing the rate of steam generation, and potentially causing boiler metals to reach failure temperatures. We have a complete line of antiscalant products from BWA that can help eliminate this problems.

Cooling Tower Treatment
Cooling towers are used to transfer process heat to the atmosphere. Cooling towers may either use the evaporation of water to remove process heat and cool the working water or, in the case of closed circuit dry cooling towers, rely solely on air to cool the working water.

Bio-films on the heat transfer surfaces decrease the efficiency of heat transfer (fouling). This problem can be minimized with the addition of products and proper operating procedures. Furthermore, In open systems, a large amount of debris accumulates in the water, this solids need to be removed before the water returns to the process.

We offer a complete line of  antiscalant agents and halogenated and non halogen biocides and algaecides for the control of biofilms and scale in cooling towers. To remove solids from the cooling tower basins, we provide complete automated filtration packages that utilize advanced filtering media and controls.

Desalination
There are two main types of procedures for desalinating seawater, which is not recommended for human consumption, due to its large salt content.

  • Thermal desalination. Converting the water to steam in distillation facilities separates its salt.
  • Reverse osmosis desalination. The water is fed under pressure through a membrane, which lets the water through but traps the salt.

We can recommend products to aid the disinfection, fouling and scale control of the process. We also recommend and design equipment for RO applications. Contact us for a discussion of your system needs and how we can help you.

Potable Water
TG Water additives can help you source products and technologies for potable water treatment. We have multiple products that aid in producing world class drinking water.

In most applications, the first step is filtration. By utilizing world class technologies you can create crystal clear drinking water. However, based on the source water this task may take several stages and require ultra filtration.

After the water is filtered then we want to eliminate and microbial contamination. Typically, this is done with UV, Ozone, Chemical methods, or a combination of any of the three.
